Do you feel tired of life?
After a lot of struggle with trying to NOT feel tired of life, I have come to a simple conclusion that IT IS NORMAL TO FEEL TIRED OF LIFE !
We hide this normalcy / normal tendency in us as it is against any and all logic of putting in effort to “achieve” something or “become” something or just “be”.
Life is tough - for every organism on earth (we don’t know if there are others in the universe). We human beings have actually fought back nature and made things so much easier for ourselves. The things we cry about nowadays (no money, relationship troubles, job worries, general social infrastructure getting transformed around the world etc.) may be definitely more interesting than those of animals in the wild - but they are all “made up” in a sense - part of the human social machinery. Its all fake and we believe it because it gives us purpose.
Random events and random bad luck in one’s life (parents’ dying suddenly, losing a partner prematurely, family member suffering mental illness, being physically assaulted/ manhandled a bit (not severely) etc.) brings one closer to real problems … but even these are emotional set-backs mostly - not real physical problems.
Whatever we do to keep our lives positive and organized, the second law of thermodynamics says it will eventually be wiped off. Everything goes to state of maximum entropy - the universe itself is “winding down”. Don’t believe me … just look at some young pics of famous movie stars back then and now in their old age … nothing lasts and even the best are pierced badly by the arrow of time. And often times makes a complete mockery of those who try to reverse its effects (think stars with plastic surgeries gone wrong!).
The idea is to embrace this normalcy - the feeling of being tired of life. Embrace the fact of one’s own mortality too. We must embrace and accept these ideas. We must see them as mud … the mud where we must grow our small, beautiful lotuses / pond lilies for a while. Without this mud, they would not have come into existence - in-fact the mud nourishes the flowers. But it also restricts them. The flowers show how even mud can produce a thing of such beauty. There is hidden promise in all the mud flung at us by the universe. We need to unlock it’s potential for “flower growing” using our ingenuity and work.
Why? Because … after-all … what else is there to do?
So lets all be tired of life … and lets keep growing our precious (maybe to the world … but certainly to us) flowers in the mud. There’s nothing else to do. And if we don’t grow them, then the mud is … well … just mud (!).
Its easier said than done (sounds very poetic, sort of) … but there really is nothing else worthwhile to do. There is just emptiness … and it is all around us, but it can be calculated which gives us a great opportunity (as Gregori Perelman said … But I doubt it is controllable like he stated it is).
